It All Started with One New Store てからというもの・を皮切りに・を経て

These patterns arrange events across time. ぶりに says an event happens again after a long interval. 再び means “again / once more.” を通じて / を通して can mean “through” a route or medium, or “throughout” a period. てからというもの describes a continuing change since a turning point. を皮切りに presents a first event that opens a series; に先駆けて says something happened ahead of another event; を機に marks an occasion that prompts a change; を境に divides a before and after; and を経て describes reaching a point by passing through stages or experience.

ぶりに follows a time period to mark the first time an event has happened in that long: 三年ぶりに会った, “met for the first time in three years.” 以来 is another formal “since,” usually marking the point from which a state has continued: 卒業以来, “since graduation.” てからというもの highlights a change that began after an event and has continued. It often introduces a noticeable new habit, condition, or relationship.

を皮切りに frames the first of a sequence, usually with more events of the same kind following. を機に focuses on the occasion as an opportunity or trigger for change. に先駆けて means “ahead of” a scheduled event, while を境に marks a dividing point between two states.

を経て describes a route, process, or experience passed through before reaching a later stage. It is common in formal biographies, reports, and descriptions of organizational change.

In Real Life
A new policy can be launched に先駆けて a public briefing, then the launch itself may become an occasion を機に for changing procedures. を皮切りに is useful when a series begins with one named event; を経て emphasizes the steps taken along the way.
