“The apartment is small, I admit; the location is perfect.” 固然 grants that first point before balancing it with another. 即便……也…… pushes the concession further: even under that condition, the result still stands.
你固然是错了，但也不能怪你。
nǐ gùrán shì cuò le， dàn yě bùnéng guài nǐ。
On the one hand, you are wrong, but on the other hand, I can't blame you for that.
我想和你一起去，但是我没有时间。
