Even Though They Said So例 · 虽说有点贵
虽说路程很远，但是我们可以慢慢走. The first clause concedes a point before the response. 纵然……也…… sounds more formal and sets up a stronger “even if” condition.
虽说有点贵，但值得。
suīshuō yǒu diǎn guì, dàn zhídé。
Although it's a bit expensive, it's worth it.
我想和你一起去，但是我没有时间。
wǒ xiǎng hé nǐ yīqǐ qù， dànshì wǒ méiyǒu shíjiān。
I want to go with you, but I don’t have time.
你们的计划很好，可是我的更好。
nǐmen de jìhuà hěn hǎo， kěshì wǒ de gèng hǎo。
Your plan is a good one, but mine is a better one.
我在电视上看到过他，不过没有看到过他本人。
wǒ zài diànshì shàng kàndào guò tā， bùguò méiyǒu kàndào guò tā běnrén。
I have seen him on TV but not in the flesh.
