Connect Two Full Thoughts例 · 虽然会议比计划晚了半小时开始

“If the weather holds, we’ll go hiking; if it turns, we’ll visit the museum instead.” A long sentence can contain more than one relationship. Keep each clause group clear so the listener can follow how the full thoughts fit together.

虽然会议比计划晚了半小时开始，但是大家先听了客户的意见，然后一起调整了方案。
suīrán huìyì bǐ jìhuà wǎn le bàn xiǎoshí kāishǐ, dànshì dàjiā xiān tīng le kèhù de yìjiàn, ránhòu yìqǐ tiáozhěng le fāng'àn.
Although the meeting started half an hour late, everyone first listened to the client and then revised the proposal together.
如果明天不下雨，我们就去郊外骑车；要是天气不好，就在家做饭看电影。
rúguǒ míngtiān bù xiàyǔ, wǒmen jiù qù jiāowài qíchē; yàoshi tiānqì bù hǎo, jiù zài jiā zuòfàn kàn diànyǐng.
If it doesn’t rain tomorrow, we’ll cycle out of town; if the weather is bad, we’ll cook and watch a film at home.
不但这家店离地铁站近，而且价格合理，所以我们决定以后常来。
bùdàn zhè jiā diàn lí dìtiězhàn jìn, érqiě jiàgé hélǐ, suǒyǐ wǒmen juédìng yǐhòu cháng lái.
Not only is this shop close to the subway, but its prices are reasonable too, so we’ve decided to come often.
