“We won’t make the last train unless we leave now.” 除非……才/否则…… sets the one condition that changes the outcome. State the exception first; then tell the listener what depends on it.
除非你想去，否则你不必去这个派对。
chúfēi nǐ xiǎng qù， fǒuzé nǐ búbì qù zhège pàiduì。
You don’t have to go to the party unless you want to.
立刻起床，否则你上学会迟到。
lìkè qǐchuáng， fǒuzé nǐ shàngxué huì chídào。
Get up at once, or you’ll be late for school.
慢慢来，不然你可能会出错的。
mànmànlái， bùrán nǐ kěnéng huì chūcuò de。
Take your time, or you may make some mistakes.
