If That Happens 一旦
Once the doors open, the first guests rush in. 一旦 sets up the event that triggers what follows, often with 就 before the result. 要是 opens a broader possibility; 要不然 warns what could happen if the plan isn’t followed.
一旦养成坏习惯，就很难改掉。
yīdàn yǎngchéng huài xíguàn, jiù hěn nán gǎidiào.
Once you develop a bad habit, it is hard to break.
要是我很有钱的话，我就会到处去旅游。
yàoshi wǒ hěn yǒuqián dehuà， wǒ jiù huì dàochù qù lǚyóu。
If I were rich, I would travel everywhere.
立刻起床，否则你上学会迟到。
lìkè qǐchuáng， fǒuzé nǐ shàngxué huì chídào。
Get up at once, or you’ll be late for school.
“我明天再做。” “这话你昨天就说过了！”
