The blue suitcase is lighter; the red one is three centimetres taller. 跟……相比 sets up the comparison, and an adjective can take an amount after it to show the gap: 高三厘米, “three centimetres taller.”
和以前相比，这里的生活方便多了。
hé yǐqián xiāngbǐ， zhèlǐ de shēnghuó fāngbiàn duō le。
Compared with before, life here is much more convenient.
我跟你说过的那个女生住在这儿。
