Only If You Ask 只有…才
“You can borrow the car only if you bring it back by six.” 只有……才…… sets a condition the result depends on. The 才 in the result clause makes that requirement clear: without the condition, there’s no result.
只有努力学习，才能通过考试。
zhǐyǒu nǔlì xuéxí， cái néng tōngguò kǎoshì。
Only by studying hard can you pass the exam.
我才是那个想和你在一起的人！
wǒ cái shì nà ge xiǎng hé nǐ zài yìqǐ de rén！
