Who Runs Faster?

You’ve watched two friends race and want to compare their results. When you’re comparing how someone does an action, put 得 after the verb, then add the comparison: 跑得比我快 (“runs faster than me”). You can also use 不比 to say one thing isn’t more than another.

Xiǎo Wáng pǎo de bǐ wǒ kuài.
Xiao Wang runs faster than I do.
wǒ jīntiān qǐ de bǐ zuótiān zǎo bàn ge xiǎoshí.
I got up half an hour earlier today than yesterday.
zhè jiā fànguǎn bù bǐ nà jiā piányi.
This restaurant isn’t cheaper than that one.
jiějie bǐ wǒ duō kàn le liǎng běn shū.
My older sister read two more books than I did.
Hint · 힌트
For an action comparison, the verb comes before 得: 跑得比我快. For a difference in amount, put 多/少/早/晚 before the verb, then give the number: 比我多看了两本.
