Ask Someone to Help 让

“Can you ask Mei to come in?” With 叫、派、请, or 让, the person named after the first verb carries out the next action: 请她进来. That person is the hinge between the two verbs, so there’s no need to say her name twice.

让我来帮你吧。你的包看起来很重。
ràng wǒ lái bāng nǐ ba。 nǐ de bāo kànqǐlai hěn chóng。
Let me help you. Your bag looks very heavy.
我叫你的名字的时候,请你把手举起来。

Please raise your hand when I call your name.
你认为我们应该派人去请医生来吗?
