If That Happens 如果…就
如果……就…… sets out a condition and its likely result. In conversation, putting ……的话 before 就 gives a more spoken “if that’s the case…” frame.
如果他来找我们的话，我们就会帮忙。
rúguǒ tā lái zhǎo wǒmen dehuà， wǒmen jiù huì bāngmáng。
If he comes to us, we’ll help him.
我要是你的话，我就不去。
wǒ yàoshi nǐ dehuà， wǒ jiù bú qù。
If I were you, I wouldn’t go.
“我明天再做。” “这话你昨天就说过了！”
“wǒ míngtiān zài zuò。” “zhè huà nǐ zuótiān jiù shuō guò le！”
“I’ll do it again tomorrow.” “You said that just yesterday!”
