Not Only This 不但…而且
You’re describing a colleague who’s both quick and careful. Link the first quality with 不但 and complete the thought with 而且. The second part adds to the first, so the listener hears a small build-up rather than a contrast.
他不但高，也很快。
tā bùdàn gāo， yě hěn kuài。
He is not only tall but also fast.
他很高，而且很快。
tā hěn gāo， érqiě hěn kuài。
He's tall, and moreover fast.
他买不起汽车，更不要说买房子了。
tā mǎi bu qǐ qìchē， gèng búyào shuō mǎi fángzi le。
He cannot buy a car, still less a house.
你还记得我的生日，那真是太好了。
nǐ hái jìde wǒ de shēngrì， nà zhēn shì tài hǎo le。
It’s really great that you still remember my birthday.
