Give Her the Book 给

Your friend asks for a menu, and you hand it to her. With verbs like 给 and 送, Chinese can name both the recipient and the thing being passed along: “give her the menu.” The usual order is verb + recipient + thing; 给 can also introduce the recipient later in the sentence.
