A Moment Later

When you tell a story, you can build a phrase around a thing, an action, or a description: 一个安全的地方 (“a safe place”), 去买咖啡 (“go buy coffee”), 非常安全 (“very safe”). And if you want to move the story along, 不一会儿 means “a little while later.”

wǒmen qù mǎi kāfēi, bù yíhuìr jiù huílai le.
We went to get coffee and came back a little while later.
wǒ xiǎng zhǎo yí ge ānjìng de dìfang kàn shū.
I want to find a quiet place to read.
zhè jiā kāfēidiàn fēicháng ānjìng.
This café is very quiet.
By the time he got home, his friend had already been waiting for a while.
Hint · 힌트
A phrase can do the job of one part of speech: 安静的地方 names a thing, 去买咖啡 describes an action, and 非常安静 describes a quality. 不一会儿 is a time phrase that moves the story forward.
