Ah, No Way, If That’s the Case例 · 我要是你的话
Your friend says “I’m going,” and you answer with a surprised 啊 or a gentle 好吧. Later, you make a plan “if it rains”: 下雨的话. These small words can change the feel of a spoken line or link one idea to another; 等 can also leave a list open with “and so on.”
