Three Ways to Finish a Sentence例 · 我每天工作
Someone asks how your day is going. You can answer with an action (我工作), a description (我很忙), or a quick comment (下雨了). Chinese predicates take several shapes, and an adjective usually describes the subject directly: there’s no 是 between them. 很 often makes that description sound neutral rather than emphatically “very.”
Examples
我每天工作。
Wǒ měitiān gōngzuò.
I work every day.
他很高兴。
Tā hěn gāoxìng.
He is happy.
下雨了。
Xià yǔ le.
It’s raining now.
Hint · 힌트
Do not insert 是 before an adjective: 他很高兴 is the ordinary pattern, not 他是很高兴 in a basic neutral statement.
