With a Friend 하고
a
You go to a film with a friend: 친구하고 영화를 봐요. Between nouns, 하고 can mean “and”; after a person, it often means “with.” The sentence tells you which relationship is meant.
chinguhago norayo.

Hint · 힌트
놀다 covers adults hanging out just as much as kids playing. 친구하고 놀아요 is a completely normal thing for a grown adult to say about getting a drink with friends. English “play” sounds childish in that context; Korean 놀다 doesn’t.
These pair naturally with 에서, the location-of-action particle, since where you do something and who you’re with usually show up in the same sentence.

doseogwaneseo chaegeul ilgeoyo.

chinguhago kapeeseo keopireul masyeoyo.

In Real Life
하고 and (이)랑 are common in conversation. 와/과 is also used in speech and is frequent in writing: vowels take 와, consonants take 과. These are tendencies in use, rather than a strict spoken/written division.
Add Someone or Something Too
도 attaches to a noun to mean too, also, or even, depending on context: 저도, 친구도. It commonly replaces 은/는, 이/가, or 을/를, rather than being added after those particles. It can follow other particles: 학교에도, 친구에게도.
jeodo hangugeoreul baewoyo.
I learn Korean too.
chinguga wayo. dongsaengdo wayo.
My friend is coming. My younger sibling is coming too.
