Express restrained wishes, strong feelings, and reactions that are difficult to put into ordinary words. This set includes literary ways to express wishes and strong reactions. てやまない emphasizes a continuing, heartfelt wish. It is common in speeches and formal messages, rather than quick everyday exchanges.

In a real speech, this kind of expression signals emotional commitment. Translate the intensity, but avoid adding a stronger claim than the speaker made.

In Real Life
A graduation speech or public message may use 願ってやまない to express a continuing heartfelt wish. This sounds more ceremonious than a casual 願っている.
Hint · 힌트
For expressive forms, identify the emotion and its duration, then choose an English intensity that fits the surrounding speech.
