Even So 而…则
第一组提前完成了，而第二组还没开始. 而 can set two developments against each other, with 则 sharpening the second side. 倒/反倒 marks a result that went the opposite way from what you expected.
我帮了他，他反倒怪我。
wǒ bāngle tā, tā fǎndào guài wǒ.
I helped him, but he blamed me instead.
你也许不会记得，而我永远不会忘记。
nǐ yěxǔ bù huì jìde， ér wǒ yǒngyuǎn bù huì wàngjì。
You may not remember, but I’ll never forget.
动物需要食物和饮料，而植物则需要雨水和阳光。
dòngwù xūyào shíwù hé yǐnliào， ér zhíwù zé xūyào yǔshuǐ hé yángguāng。
As food and drink is to animals, so are rain and sunshine to plants.
