What’s the Rush?

These replies comment on a person’s actions rather than asking for information. 看你急的! teases someone for getting worked up; 真有你的! can praise a clever move or point out cheekiness; X什么X pushes back against an action, as in 急什么急. The relationship and tone decide whether the line is playful or sharp.

Look how worked up you are; the train doesn’t leave for another twenty minutes.
You really did it—you fixed such a complicated computer in one evening!
jí shénme jí? cáiliào hái méi zhǔnbèi hǎo, cuī yě méi yòng.
What’s the rush? The materials aren’t ready yet, so pushing won’t help.
Hint · 힌트
看你X的 often reacts to what the listener is doing; 真有你的 is a set reaction to someone’s behaviour. X什么X repeats the action to challenge or brush it off. Use these with people you know well, since they can sound critical.
