Who Wouldn’t Want to Go? 谁不

The whole group loved the trip, so you look around and ask, “Who wouldn’t want to go again?” A rhetorical question like this expects the listener to understand your point. Chinese also uses a double negative or 一…… 不…… to make an assertion emphatic.

Who wouldn’t want to try such a good opportunity?
How could I forget something so important?
méiyǒu rén bǐ tā gèng liǎojiě zhè zuò chéngshì.
No one knows this city better than she does.
tā lián yì kǒu shuǐ yě méi hē, jiù jìxù kāihuì le.
He didn’t even drink a sip of water before continuing the meeting.
Hint · 힌트
A rhetorical 谁不…… 呢? usually expects agreement with the implied answer. 比……更…… and 连……也没…… make a strong negative claim directly.
