Just Put the Two Thoughts Together 不...也...

You ask your friend whether they’re joining the hike. They say, “You’re not going, and I’m not going either.” The clauses sit side by side; the listener understands their relationship without a separate word such as 因为 or 所以.

你不想去,我也不想去。
nǐ bù xiǎng qù, wǒ yě bù xiǎng qù.
You don’t want to go, and I don’t either.
天气预报说会下雨,我们就不爬山了。
tiānqì yùbào shuō huì xiàyǔ, wǒmen jiù bù páshān le.
The forecast says it’ll rain, so we’re not going hiking.
他负责买票,我负责订酒店,谁也不用操心。
tā fùzé mǎi piào, wǒ fùzé dìng jiǔdiàn, shéi yě búyòng cāoxīn.
He’ll buy the tickets, I’ll book the hotel, and neither of us needs to worry.
Hint · 힌트
The clauses are short because the relationship is easy to infer from what comes before and after. 不……也…… makes the shared negative meaning explicit, but the sentence still needs no separate linking conjunction.
