You’ve checked the forecast, so you change the plan; your friend adds one more reason; then you wrap up with a summary. 并、而、而是, and 以及 connect ideas in different ways, while 既然 starts from a known fact, 假如 opens a possibility, and 总之 signals that you’re tying things together.

我爸爸拿出他的钱包，并给了我十美元。
wǒ bàba ná chū tā de qiánbāo， bìng gěi le wǒ shí měiyuán。
My father took out his wallet and gave me ten dollars.
