Catch the Train on Time 为了
Your first train leaves soon, and you still need to get to the station. Put 为了 before the goal you have in mind, then say what you do to reach it: 为了赶上车, “to catch the train.”
为了赶第一班火车，我起了个大早。
wèile gǎn dìyī bān huǒchē， wǒ qǐ le ge dà zǎo。
I got up early to catch the first train.
为了找个好位子，我很早就出门了。
wèile zhǎo yí ge hǎo wèizi， wǒ hěn zǎo jiù chūmén le。
I left home early to get a good seat.
为了避免迟到，我们提前在网上买好了车票。
wèile bìmiǎn chídào, wǒmen tíqián zài wǎngshàng mǎi hǎo le chēpiào.
To avoid being late, we bought the tickets online in advance.
为了省时间，他带了午饭，吃完就出发。
wèile shěng shíjiān, tā dài le wǔfàn, chī wán jiù chūfā.
To save time, he brought lunch and set off as soon as he finished eating.
