According to the Plan 按照
The recipe says two teaspoons, so that’s what goes in the bowl. 按照 names the plan, instruction, or rule you’re following; 按 can set a measure or standard. Put that guide up front, then say what you do by it.
我们按照地图走，十分钟后就到了湖边。
wǒmen ànzhào dìtú zǒu, shí fēnzhōng hòu jiù dào le húbiān.
We followed the map and reached the lakeside ten minutes later.
请按照说明先插上电源，再按绿色按钮。
qǐng ànzhào shuōmíng xiān chā shàng diànyuán, zài àn lǜsè ànniǔ.
Follow the instructions: plug in the power first, then press the green button.
这批鸡蛋按打出售，买得多还可以送货。
zhè pī jīdàn àn dǎ chūshòu, mǎi de duō hái kěyǐ sònghuò.
These eggs are sold by the dozen, and larger orders can be delivered.

按照 often takes a plan, rule, or instructions. 按 can also mean “per” or “according to a unit,” as in 按打 “by the dozen.”
