You Said It Just Yesterday

Your friend says they’ll finish the report tomorrow. You remind them that they promised the same thing yesterday. Put 就 before the time or detail you want to stress: it can mean “as soon as,” “already by,” or “just/exactly.”

nǐ zuótiān jiù shuō guo zhè jù huà le!
You said that just yesterday!
wǒ yí dào jiā jiù gěi nǐ dǎ diànhuà.
I’ll call you as soon as I get home.
zhè jiù shì wǒ zuótiān mǎi de nà běn shū.
This is exactly the book I bought yesterday.
tā wǔ suì jiù huì yóuyǒng le.
He could already swim at five.
Hint · 힌트
就 points to something earlier, sooner, or more exact than expected. The sentence pattern 一……就…… means “as soon as…”. 是……的 can also put focus on a specific detail, such as the book you bought yesterday.
