At the Same Time 一边…一边
Dinner is on the stove, your playlist is on, and you’re trying to finish homework: 我一边听音乐，一边做作业. 一边…一边… holds two actions side by side while they happen together. If the actions happen one after the other, choose a sequence pattern instead.
Examples
妈妈做饭，我看书。
Māma zuò fàn, wǒ kàn shū.
Mum cooks while I read.
我一边听音乐，一边做作业。
Wǒ yìbiān tīng yīnyuè, yìbiān zuò zuòyè.
I listen to music while doing homework.
Hint · 힌트
一边 is repeated before both actions. The shorter pattern can omit a linking word when the relationship is obvious.
