Not Yet 没
Your friend turns down coffee: 我不喝咖啡. Later, you ask whether they ate breakfast and hear 还没有. One “not” covers a habit; another says an event hasn’t happened. And if the bus is about to leave, 别着急 is a way to tell someone not to panic. Choose the form for the job it’s doing.
Examples
我不喝咖啡。
Wǒ bù hē kāfēi.
I don’t drink coffee.
他没有吃早饭。
Tā méiyǒu chī zǎofàn.
He hasn’t eaten breakfast.
别着急。
Bié zháojí.
Don’t worry.
Hint · 힌트
A completed action is commonly negated with 没(有), not 不: 我没去 means “I didn’t go.”
